Your Travel Baby Essentials
don't leave home without them
If you plan to take baby on holiday, you'll already be thinking about what travel baby essentials you'll need. Lets be honest, we have all seen those unfortunate parents at the airport who have so much stuff hanging off them that they can barely move, let alone take a moment to enjoy some duty free shopping! More importantly, we have all feared being stranded with our baby and not having those travel baby essential to hand. It need not be you. My baby travel essentials are my core supplies. Not to be confused with organised well packed carry-on luggage. Naturally, different destinations, climates and durations will alter what you might LIKE to take to make your life easier. But the essentails should be just that, the essential BARE MINIMUM. The stuff you couldn't do without. Also check out our travel baby checklists to help you remember those less obvious items. Lists of useful travel with baby items for that fab family holiday. Listed below are the items I pack in my day bag or as the core to my carry-on luggage. They are the items that can see me through for a minimum of 48hrs. Sounds drastic or over organised, but I even use these essentials on a daily basis when driving here and there. Because you just never know when you might be stranded, for whatever reason! Having these to hand in my day bag (or even handbag!) just gives me peace of mind and confidence to venture off schedule every now and then.
Travel Baby Essentials List
- Nappies x8
- Wet wipes
- Muslin
- powdered milk in dispenser
- 2 bottles (empty/sterilised)
- Flask of sterilised water
- tube of sudocrem
- 3 sachets of infant paracetamol
- a change of clothes in a sealed plastic bag (2 vests/warm items)

We are very lucky in the western world to have most things at our fingertips, even in an emergency. From experience, boiling water is available almost everywhere and if not, cold bottled water is better than nothing. In a crisis (such as an airport delay or unexpected incident or event) the relief of having these items with you will outweigh the concern from having to use cold bottled water or reuse a baby bottle.
Once you have your core items sorted, you can add to the list based on where you intend to go - a short car journey or a holiday flying with baby.We have a done the hard yards and put together the checklists for you.
