Bassinet Seat, Babies Air Travel Safety Equipment, Baby Seat Belt
If you've never been flying with baby, you will no doubt be worried about babies air travel safety equipment, such as the baby seatbelt and the skycot or bassinet seat. Here is a collection of images to set your mind at ease. The sleeping arrangements for an infant are fantastic in comparison to what mummy and daddy have! You will be very jealous, but quite relieved, when baby is sound asleep in the bassinet seat whilst you sit upright and inevitably your neck hurts. Babies air travel safety equipment includes inflatable infant cots, which will be provided in the unlikely event of an emergency.

The baby seatbelt is an extra attachment that you fit to your belt once you are sitting in your seat. You then place the smaller belt around baby and latch it together in the same manner as your own. Baby will need to be in the lap belt position for take-off, landing and during any turbulence. On a longhaul flight, flying with baby, you will almost certainly experience turbulent episodes where you may hve to wake baby and move them from the bassinet seat to your lap. Our son was four and a half months old during this longhaul flight. He is big for his age, but only slightly so. As you can see he is not far off filling the skycot lengthwise. It says it takes up to 11kg, however he will be far to long by then! Whilst in the bassinet seat, part of babies air travel safety equipment is the velcro flaps that must remain closed over baby. This cover or flap keeps baby secure in the skycot. During the flight, when the seatbelt sign is off, you don't have to have your toddler belted to their seat permanently (good luck keeping them still!). However it is commen sense to encourage them to be strapped in all the time they are seated. Most aircraft today have inflight entertainment that is a fantastic time waster - especially for toddlers and baby flying longhaul.
